Born August 12, 1964 in Piatigorsk.

He graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics of the St. Petersburg State University, where he discussed his doctoral thesis.

From 1995 to 2008 he was a teacher at the St. Petersburg State University. In the years 2000-2004 he was head of the Roerich Center of the same University. He is one of the creators of the philanthropic Foundation “The legacy of the Roerichs” and of the Museum-Institute of the Roerich family, which is based on the Memorial Collection of Stepan Mitussov.

He has been the director of the Roerich Family Museum-Institute since its establishment.

He is the author of more than 60 scientific publications. He was awarded the St. Petersburg Government Prize in the field of culture. He is a member of the St. Petersburg International Club and a member of the presidium of the Union of collaborators of museums in St. Petersburg and the province of Leningrad.
