Dorota Retelska was born in Poland and grew up in Switzerland, where she studied biology and graduated with a Ph.D. in Science of the University of Lausanne in 2001 on the topic of molecular recognition mechanisms in plants, she studied the signals transmitted inside the plant that allow to recognize a stress such as drought or a disease, that allow plants to recognize a threat and to start producing defences.
Dorota was a researcher on the human genome project for some years, at the Ecole Polytechnique de Lausanne and the University de Copenhague.
In 2013, working on climate change, she published press articles, a review and 2 scientific information books on this topic. Dorota Retelska is a member of Greenpeace, co-president of the Chablais section of the Swiss green party, and a committee member of the Association Climat Genève.
