Guglielmo Tamburrini, PhD, Columbia University 1987, is full professor of Philosophy of Science and Technology at Università di Napoli Federico II, Italy. His research interests chiefly concern ethical, legal and social issues arising in human-machine interactions, in addition to the methodology of robotics and artificial intelligence (AI). He acted as coordinator of the first European project on the ethics of robotics (ETHICBOTS, 2005-2008). He has extensively written on the special threats for peace and global stability arising from military applications of robotics, AI and connected disruptive technologies. He actively participates to related advocacy initiatives as member of ICRAC (International Committee for Robot Arms Control) and USPID (Italian Scientists Union for Disarmament).
